800G QSFP – DD800 SR8, facilitating the upgrading of data center network architecture
With the rise of applications such as ChatGPT and AI, the demand of network service providers for Ethernet network devices with high speed, large bandwidth, low latency and low power consumption is increasing rapidly. With the advent of 51.2T switching chips, the data center architecture is gradually switching from 400G to 800G. As the core of carrying network equipment interconnection and optoelectronic conversion, 800G optical modules will witness explosive growth in 2023.
With the gradual maturity of 50GBd VCSEL technology, Master Photonics will Launch the 800G QSFP – DD800 SR8 optical transceivers based on this technology for the first time. This transceiver complies with the QSFP – DD Hardware rev6.3 MSA protocol, has a Pre_FEC bit error rate lower than 1E – 9, supports 100m transmission over multimode OM4 fiber, and can support the CMIS4.0 or higher software protocol according to customer requirements.
This module relies on Master Photonics’ mature COB process platform, featuring good consistency and reliability. It enables rapid replication of production capacity and mass delivery. It will become a highly competitive solution for interconnection between TOR and LEAF switches, and even between LEAF and SPINE switches.
